

CLIFF PARKS
Welcome Olympic Coach Cliff Parks! He is currently the head coach for the national Philippine's team. He comes to Top Flight fresh from the 2024 Paris Olympic Games! Cliff has been coaching gymnastics for over 20 years and has loved every minute of it. As a retired Navy Veteran, Cliff brings a coaching style of his own to Top Flight. His approach is to have fun, to give 100%, and to push yourself but enjoy gymnastics while you are doing it. It's the perfect coaching combination and we are excited to have him at Top Flight again this year. He's been a camp favorite every time he has coached! Welcome back Cliff!


QUIN SHANNON
Quin has been coaching gymnastics for over 30 years. He recently retired as the Gymnastics Director for the Magdalena Ecke YMCA Gymnastics Center in Carlsbad California. The gymnastics center is one of the largest programs in the YMCA and serves over 2000 kids per week. He was also the assistant coach for Utah State from 1998-2002. When Coach Quin isn’t surfing or guest coaching, he is running his equipment business https://extremeathletic.com/. His recent endeavor, Quin’s Boot Camp for Gymnastics Coaches, is very popular with gymnastics schools for training staff. His ability to bring “Productive FUN” to gymnastics in the JO and XCEL Program is legendary. Every camp Coach Quin is at is an experience every gymnast remembers, just ask the previous Top Flight campers!


SHAY GARNER
As a gymnastics coach for two decades, Shay has had the privilege of guiding countless athletes through their gymnastics journey. From beginners mastering fundamental skills to college-level competitors refining their routines, she fosters a culture of discipline, perseverance, and excellence. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes technique, strength training, and mental preparedness, ensuring that athletes not only excel in competition but also develop a lifelong passion for the sport. Combining her extensive experience as a gymnastics and cheer athlete, coach, and judge, her coaching approach is grounded in a deep understanding of the sport from multiple perspectives. She cultivates a culture of resilience, sportsmanship, and continuous growth, equipping athletes with the skills and mindset necessary to thrive both on and off the mat. Along with her love of coaching gymnastics and cheer, Shay is a GK Elite Sportswear rep, outfitting many of our Regional athletes and club athletes. Her designs are amazing, in fact, she has designed our custom Top Flight leotards for 10 years! She puts her heart and soul into any project she takes on. Welcome to Top Flight Shay! We are excited for her to share her knowledge with our athletes!


Ivan Alexov
Ivan Alexov just finished his sixth year with the Boise State gymnastics team. In the 2022 season, he was named the Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference (MRGC) assistant coach of the year! Prior to joining the Boise State staff, Alexov, who has more than 25 years of coaching experience across all levels of gymnastics, spent the previous five years as a member of the USA Gymnastics National Team staff, and co-owner of Omega Gymnastics in Beaverton, Ore. Throughout his coaching career Alexov has achieved numerous accolades, including being named Region II Junior Olympics Coach of the Year three times. Showcasing his versatility across all levels, Alexov has coached Level 9 and 10 gymnasts to national titles, trained athletes that went on to earn college scholarships and coached athletes at international competitions. He also served as the Region II Junior Olympics Committee Chairman for two years. Alexov was a member of the Bulgarian National Team for eight years, and is a three-time Bulgarian National Champion. He was also a member of the European and World Championship Teams in 1991 and 1994. He enjoys spending time with his family and traveling back home to Bulgaria any chance he gets. We are thrilled to have Ivan join our Top Flight staff again this year!


Rosie Alexov
Originally from Bulgaraia, Rosie was part of the Bulgaria Acrobatic Gymnastics National Team. National Champion in the women’s pair category. Competed in 2000 World Championships in Poland placing fourth as a team. Studied at National Sports Academy in Sofia Bulgaria. Rosie has been in the USA since 2001 and coached gymnastics at Desert Gym cats in Las Vegas and coached acro at Acrobatic Gymnastics in San Antonio. She has coached many national/ international participants and a world medalist! Rosie now lives in Boise and coaches at Lil Munchkins, a preschool gymnastics program she created. We are looking forward to Rosie joining the staff at Top Flight! Acro Gymnastics will be such a fun new rotation for our athletes!


Daivid Seiler
Top Flight is very excited and fortunate to announce clinician David Seiler is coming back to Top Flight Camp! David is currently the assistant coach at UC Davis in NorCal. He has coached at Dream Extreme and Head Over Heals in Northern California’s Bay Area. He’s known as the “uneven bars guru” throughout Region 1 and has coached many National bar champions. His former gymnasts have earned scholarships to UCLA, ASU, CAL, and UW. In 2017, he was named NorCal Coach of the Year. A well-respected presenter at National Congress and camps, David’s positive energy and enthusiam are always a great addition to Top Flight! He’s an athlete favorite at every camp he coaches. We are SO excited to have him join us again this year!

Joy Umenhofer

Joy has been a gym owner, world championship coach, world age group coach, member of the Jr. National Men’s coaching staff, and National team coordinator for Trampoline and Tumbling. The last five years she has spent most of her time consulting with women’s artistic clubs teaching trampoline to assist in skill development for dismounts, tumbling, vault, and release skills. Her love and passion for sport guides her to continue educating athletes and coaches. We are excited to have Joy join us to coach trampoline for Top Flight Camp. Her energy and laugh is contagious. She is sure to be an athlete favorite!
